Accreditation: CPD Certified
Course Overview
The Safeguarding Children & Adults module provides a comprehensive framework for identifying, responding to, and preventing abuse across all age groups. In a home care setting, practitioners often interact with multi-generational families; this course ensures you have the specialized skills to protect both vulnerable adults and children, understanding the distinct legal requirements for each.
Delivered at our West Hampstead Academy—the area’s only facility offering unrivalled hands-on training—this module ensures you are fully compliant with the latest safeguarding legislation and local reporting protocols.
Training Efficiency & Logistics
We maximize your learning potential with a schedule built for busy care professionals:
- Same-Day Delivery: Get fully certified in both child and adult safeguarding in one face-to-face session.
- 3 to 4 Courses Per Day: Many of our learners combine this with Paediatric First Aid or Mental Capacity Act training for a complete professional development day.
- Small Group Focus: We limit attendance to 10 learners per day. This allows for the deep, sensitive discussion required to master safeguarding complexities.
Certification & Trust
Your credentials are high-security and long-lasting:
- 3-Year Validity: Your certificate remains valid for 3 years from the date of issue.
- QR Code Validation: Every certificate includes a unique QR code. This allows employers or CQC inspectors to verify your training instantly, providing total confidence in your ability to protect those in your care.
What You Will Learn
This module covers the dual responsibilities of safeguarding across the lifespan:
- Recognizing Indicators: Identifying the physical, emotional, and behavioral signs of abuse in both children and adults.
- The Legal Context: Understanding the Care Act 2014 (Adults) and the Children Act 2004, including “Working Together to Safeguard Children.”
- Disclosure & Response: How to handle a direct disclosure, the importance of “listening without judging,” and correct note-taking.
- Reporting & Referrals: Understanding the local West Hampstead and wider London multi-agency safeguarding hubs (MASH).
- Safe Practice: Maintaining professional boundaries and understanding your “Duty of Care.”
