Lone Working – Level 2

Location: Ella’s Homecare Training Centre, West Hampstead
Delivery: Face-to-Face / Onsite (Same-Day Delivery)
Accreditation: CPD Certified

Course Overview

At Ella’s Homecare, the safety of our staff is just as important as the safety of our service users. Because home care often involves working independently in the community, the Lone Working module is essential for identifying and mitigating the unique risks of working alone. This course empowers you with the “street-wise” skills and professional protocols needed to provide care confidently and safely.

Delivered at our dedicated Training Centre, this module moves beyond theory to provide practical dynamic risk assessment tools that you can use the moment you leave the classroom.

Training Efficiency & Logistics

We provide high-impact training that respects your time and your safety:

  • Same-Day Delivery: Master lone working safety protocols in a single face-to-face session.
  • 3 to 4 Courses Per Day: Many carers stack this with Health and Safety or Safeguarding to build a comprehensive personal safety toolkit in one visit.
  • Small Class Sizes: Limited to 10 learners per day to allow for realistic role-play and personal safety strategy discussions.

Certification & Trust

Our certification ensures you are compliant and protected:

  • 3-Year Validity: All Lone Working certificates are valid for 3 years from the date of issue.
  • QR Code Validation: Every certificate features a unique QR code. This allows employers or CQC inspectors to verify your safety training instantly, ensuring you are recognized as a prepared and professional lone worker.

What You Will Learn

This module focuses on proactive prevention and reactive safety strategies:

  • Dynamic Risk Assessment: Learning how to “read” an environment as you enter it and identifying potential exit routes.
  • Communication Protocols: Understanding the importance of check-in systems, “buddy” schemes, and emergency contact procedures.
  • Conflict Resolution: Practical techniques for de-escalating challenging situations or aggressive behavior in a domestic setting.
  • Personal Safety Strategies: Best practices for traveling between calls, managing “out-of-hours” visits, and keeping personal belongings secure.
  • The Law & Lone Working: Understanding your rights under the Health and Safety at Work Act and your employer’s responsibilities to protect you.
